Self-taught
in several artistic fields, Marcus Gorenstein has a mastery of painting
in oil, watercolor, pastel and acrylic, as well as of drawing and sculpture.
He has also pursued independent careers in stained glass and restoration,
all of which contribute to his professional knowledge. His principal field
is painting, in which he is exceptionally adept at rendering the figure,
nature, cityscapes, women, portraits, nudes, etc. Though the process might
involve multiple layers of rich-colored glazes, a sense of unity underlies
his paintings. An in-depth study of the interaction of light with modern
pigments and mediums has led him to create paintings that are imbued with
a magical inner glow.
As quoted in the New York city publication New Art International. "Marcus
Gorenstein displays an ability to finesse a quality of arresting wonder from
the pacific and delicate performance of light in his scenes."
He has exhibited in selected major art galleries in Montreal, Canada, his
city of residence, as well as in the city of New York and winning Critics
Picas Award in Manhattan Arts International Magazine. Marcus Gorenstein recently
received several internet awards.
