Born in Salinas,
California, from a mexican family.
I began painting rather late. I was a Technical writer in my first life.
Much of my work is autobiographical. It is firmly rooted in the subconscious.
It is soaked in the hypocrisy in Catholicism and family tradition.
I studied art under Babe Shapiro founder of the Mount Royal Graduate School
of painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore Maryland.
Awards include Ford Foundation Fellowship, and the Henry Walters Museum Fellowship.
