Carmen Sasieta, an American artist born in Peru. Since an early age, she distinguished herself for having great artistic skills, obtaining many prizes and awards in this area. But for diverse personal and professional reasons, she delayed the development of her abilities, which is why her participation in expositions is only recent.
She is a self-taught artist but has attended a wide variety of art workshops. She specializes in oil paintings with a warm palette. Presently she is working on her edition of “Cholas” in which she expresses with imagination feminine tasks in rural and cozy atmospheres.
While residing in different countries and cities in Latin America, she was able to observe and appreciate first-hand the spirit of struggle that many women find in their path while searching for their self-identify. It is this same spirit that she so vividly captures by representing women in everyday chores as strong accomplished mothers overcoming life’s obstacles while raising their children.
